The Spartanburgers are firing up the grill for what is sure to be a memorable inaugural season. Some of the best and most talented ballplayers from around the country will don a Spartanburgers uniform for the first time and get the chance to test their mettle in the highly competitive Coastal Plain League. One of the most unique experiences about Spartanburger Baseball, and collegiate summer ball in general, is that our players and many of our interns will live within the Upstate community during the season. We are seeking families to host these great players and individuals. Hosting a Spartanburger Player or intern will have a lasting impact on you, your family, and the community. The bond that is made during the summer will continue long after the season is over. Families often stay in touch with those they have hosted, celebrating their part in the success of these hopefuls. In 2019, the last full season of the Coastal Plain League, 92 CPL host families saw their hosted player(s) get drafted into the First-Year Player MLB Draft!

As a host family, you are charged to provide essential comfort for the players and interns by both the Spartanburgers organization and the individual’s family. Both players and interns are young adults and deserve a place in your home where they can go to rest, relax, and have some alone time. All interns and players are expected and required to be respectful of their host family and the house rules. Each family should also be considerate of their player or intern during our grueling summer schedule.

Aside from a lifetime of memories and unrivaled connections, Spartanburgers’ hosts will receive beefy perks, including tickets to every home game, access to private events, on-field recognition at one or more home games at Historic Duncan Park. If you are interested in making a significant commitment to this team and the community during our summer season, please contact Savannah Hargett today.
